We are a small family business on the border of Carmarthenshire and Pembrokeshire in Southwest Wales. About 30 years ago we started growing organic strawberries and potatoes on the largest piece of land we could afford (it wasn’t very large!) and luckily, there was a small demand.
The following year we grew a little more and began selling into shops and since then we’ve continued to expand. Now we buy in directly from the continent too, to be able to offer a yearly supply of fruit and more exotic vegetables (man cannot live on swede alone!)
We now supply most of Southwest Wales with organic fruit, vegetables and whole foods. We have several box schemes, a farm shop and a wholesaling business, but at the heart of us is still a family scrabbling around in the mud trying to make things grow.
Delivering boxes and the wholesale orders is mainly Anna (daughter no 2) and her partner Torrin. Rosie (daughter no 3) packs our salads, spinach, kale and other various greens, her husband Craig also drives for us, and we’re training up their brood as you can see! Carefully watched by line manager Molly. Out in the field, Chris is still doing all the growing with occasional help from all of us. Matthew does the ordering (his French and Dutch are still abysmal, but his accent is coming on nicely), and Salena keeps us all in shape and on time with her impeccable box picking.
We are Soil Association registered and all of our suppliers are certified organic.
We occasionally open up the farm for open days, but often the season runs away with us! So if you’re interested in what we do, drop us an email and we’ll always find the time for a cuppa and a walk. We also run producers markets during the summer, to try and encourage the next generation of growers and encourage the local area to get together and socialise. Working on the land can be a solitary business, so check out our events page, or keep an eye on Facebook for updates.
Any questions, drop us a line.
Chris, Matthew, Anna, Rosie, Torrin, Craig & Salena. And Molly, the springer.
